Parade Time

Yesterday, Rachel's school had a culture parade. What is that, you ask? Well, the classrooms picked a country and learned all about it this week. Friday was the culmination where they came out and demonstrated what they've learned to parents and grandparents.

Some of the kids seemed pretty shocked by the crowds and there was definitely some stage fright and crying. Rachel was pretty surprised to see me - I wasn't sure I was going to make it but it was 3:30 on a Friday and luckily I was able to make it. I was so glad I did, I'd feel so sad for her if she hadn't seen someone she loved in the crowd. :(

Which country did Rachel have? Mexico! It got the most claps, obviously, but her teacher also did a really good job of orchestrating a class demonstration. I love Rachel's teacher. I'll be so sad when she moves up to the pre-school class.

Mexico is the importer of silver, cotton and coffee. No other "imports" were mentioned. ;)
