Lessons from my daughter

Mondays are big days for us. Rachel not only has dance lessons at school, we take her to swim class with her best friend Lydia. (Lydia is our neighbor's daughter and Rachel and Lydia see each other probably every other day now).

Well, after class, I took Rachel to the changing area. I don't know why I was in a hurry, but I was. I was trying to not only take Rachel's swimsuit off, but the two swim diapers underneath (even though she is potty trained, they insist every kid under 4 wears two. I found out later why - but that's for another story!). Well, it was really hard to get all three items off at once. Rachel looked at me and said, "One at a time, mommy, one at a time." Ah! My not yet three year old girl has to remind me of this lesson as I'm trying, in vain, to be supermom taking all off at once.

Then as I tried to cram her little wet foot into her swim shoe, she looked at me and said, "be patient mommy, be patient."

My little Buddha.
